Broken link

A broken link is a link with a link destination that does not exist. There are several reasons for broken links, e.g. the linked web site is temporarily unavailable, the name of the linked site has changed, or there is a mistyping on the reference. However, most often the linked document was deleted so that the link target does not exist any more.
